Studio
A visual
practice.
When the screens go dark, I paint. Slow hours, soft light, and whatever wants to show up on the canvas.
“Movement is a form of freedom.”
01 / 06Beauty and movement
02 / 06Drawing
Lilies.
I draw lilies the way some people hum a song, over and over.
Perspective.
Reach was a study in perspective, a hand stretching out toward you.
03 / 06Layering
Layer on layer.
A study in layering. Thin veils of blue and green, one over the next, until the feathers began to glow.
04 / 06Texture
Reclining figure
Textured abstract, mixed media on canvas
An abstract built from texture. A body, or a coastline, or a dream of one, left a little undecided.
05 / 06Memory
Raw memory.
Painted in an oil wash. One brown, thinned and lifted back, with a few scratched lines rising out of it like a memory.
06 / 06In progress
On the easel.
Still half dreamed. I like letting people see them before they're finished.
